Diglipur, Nov. 17: A young student artist Indrajit Das from the rural area of Madhupur village has made his family and school feel proud of his achievement at the State Level Painting competition on ‘Energy Conservation’, conducted by the ‘bureau of energy efficiency’ under the Ministry of power, held recently at Port Blair.

Taking part in the competition, Indrajit, student of class X of Government Secondary School Madhupur stood third at the state level and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000. After qualifying the zonal and district level, he became the first of the six, winners at state level, who hails from the rural area. All the rest of the five artists are from the schools of Port Blair. Indrajit along with the other five winners will now take part at the National Level Competition to be held on 14th December in New Delhi.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: As part of celebration of Janjati Gaurav Diwas, 2022 which marks the birth anniversary of Tribal Freedom Fighter ‘Birsa Munda’, the Andaman & Nicobar Tribal Research & Training Institute (ANTRI) in collaboration with Directorate of Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration organized a one-day seminar on the theme ‘Contribution of Tribal Freedom Fighters’.

Port Blair, Nov. 17: NABARD, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Office is conducting a six day training programme on natural farming from 14th to 19th November 2022 in two batches for farmers of South Andaman, and North and Middle Andaman. The first batch consisted of 30 farmers from South Andaman. The training for the second batch of 30 farmers from North and Middle Andaman was inaugurated today by Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration and Dr E. B. Chakurkar, Director, CIARI was the guest of honour.
